In order to study the correct social structure in a scientific manner to explore the causes and solutions of the existing social problems, Sociology as a new discipline has been started at BRUR. The dept. has been started from 2010-2011 session. The orientation program of the 1^st batch was held on 14 February, 2011 and class was started from 22 February, 2011.

Programs and Facilities:
A 4 year semester system (2 semesters per year) of teaching and letter grade system of evaluation is introduced from the very first batch of students.
